Sublime Pizza at this Super Cool Bar

Have you been to LoFi (Low Fidelity) Bar in the Heights? They opened 5 years ago by the same team that runs the Archer downtown. We recently stopped in for a post-work crafty cocktail and we stayed for the utterly delicious, worth-a-trip-alone-for pizza.

This was our first time with Detroit-style pizza. It is deep-dishy like Chicago-style but tastes and feels lighter – as the crust is more airy, more fluffy and crispier. We kept it simple with a Margherita – marinara sauce, mozzarella, pecorino, EVOO and basil. It was perfection – the perfect mix of crispiness, tanginess and cheesiness. That said there are a range of complex vegetarian and carnivorous pizzas, like the Jersey City Cosmonaut – made with Pancetta, heirloom tomato, basil, fennel pollen (!), pecorino, smoked mozzarella and a vodka sauce.

Lofi also serves salads, rice bowls, sandwiches and more. But LoFi is a bar first and foremost and their drinks are fantastic. A world-class list of hot and cold cocktails is augmented by a fine group of beer and wine. Plus, they stay open late – 3am on the weekends. And besides the very cool interior, there is a large outdoor patio to enjoy come Spring. This just happens to be one bar with amazing food to match. Go!
