A big, bright, and bold new restaurant has arrived in Jersey City. Meximodo, a modern Mexican cocina and tequila bar, is located on the ground floor of the Veris Residential Haus25 tower at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive. The space is stunning—glossy tile, soaring ceilings, and a dramatic bar that stretches all the way up. During our first visit, we even spotted a bartender climbing a rolling ladder to reach a prized bottle of tequila perched at the top shelf.
The menu delivers elevated takes on Mexican favorites, with hearty salads, bowls, and egg dishes like the Barbacoa Omelet and a delicious vegetarian Chilaquiles topped with a sunny-side egg. Sweet lovers will swoon over the Tres Leches French Toast and Abuelita Chocolate Chip Pancakes finished with Mexican fudge.
As for drinks—tequila reigns supreme. The Cantarito is a standout: a bright, citrusy blend of Blanco Patrón tequila, grapefruit, and orange juices served in a tajín-rimmed glass. For something different, try El Padrino, a bold mix of Great Jones Bourbon, Mexican corn liquor, and angostura bitters, theatrically finished tableside with a flaming orange slice. Meximodo is a vibrant new addition to Jersey City’s growing dining scene—a perfect spot for large groups, families, and party lovers alike.
