Experience Dublin Hospitality at Dagda
Maybe Jersey City didn’t really “need” a new dive bar, but we sure got a great one.
Dagda is an authentic Irish spot – founder Ben Prior hails from Dublin and has really captured the warmth of a traditional Irish pub combined with a fun neighborhood dive atmosphere. There is a lot of dark wood blended with green walls, a a striking mural of the Celtic God of the same name, and a unique "snug"—a private, high-walled booth inspired by traditional Irish pub design. It’s designed for conversation, offering a quieter escape while still maintaining vibrant energy. Entertainment includes a pool table, darts, and a jukebox, making it a fantastic spot to settle in.
The drink menu centers around an expertly poured pint of Guinness, along with rarer Irish selections like Sullivan’s Irish Gold. As with many Irish pubs today, the food elevates the experience with satisfying, rustic bar bites. The menu includes Irish Spice Bags—a mix of chicken strips, fries, peppers, onions, and curry sauce, savory pierogis, wings, and "hammered burgers".
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink, a casual dinner, or looking for a new hangout with pool and darts, Dagda might well become your favorite local spot. In true Irish form, the bartenders are warm and charming and hopefully for some of our Irish expats, this pub truly feels like home.
