Buon Giornio Gelateria, an authentic Italian gelato maker from Bologna, Italy chose none other than Jersey City to make their American debut. They offer over 40 flavors of gelato each day daily from a repertoire of 120 options. Classic flavors include Coffee, Pistachio, Chocolate and the like while the many modern and inventive specialties include the ubiquitous Dubai Chocolate along with Baklava, Kinder Bueno, Oreo with Stracciatella and many more.
They also serve refreshing sorbettos (Italian sorbet) and icy granitas, a much fancier version of an American style Italian ice which will hit the spot when the warm weather eventually returns. While Buon Giornio is on the pricy end – a small cup is $9.25 – the portions are generous, you can pick two flavors and a syrup drizzle and cookie atop your treat is complementary. They sell gelatos in bulk sizes, too. Beyond scoops, they sell frozen cup desserts like Strawberry Cheesecake, Tiramisu and Ferrero Rocher-infused iced treats. These are all available in full-sized cakes as well.
