Check out the Enchanting Dear Maud

From the rugged cliffs of Sligo, Ireland to 1st St. in Hoboken, the charming pub Dear Maud draws its inspiration from one of literature’s greatest unrequited romances. The famed Irish poet W.B. Yeats spent a lifetime writing obsessively to his muse Maud Gonne. This was the woman who famously told him the world would thank her for never marrying him, as his heartbreak fueled his greatest verses.

Today, that poetic tension lives on in a space that feels like a hip and modern Irish sanctuary. The earth-toned leather booths, lush hanging greenery and skylights create a mellow, welcoming glow during the day. As night falls, the energy shifts, the lights dim and a clubbier vibe transforms Dear Maud into a lively scene.

The signature drink is the Dear Maud Cocktail – a smokey blend of tequila, mezcal and pineapple. We are partial towards the Pickle Martini – Olive Oil Washed Vodka, Vermouth and Pickle Brine. If that is not for you, there are plenty of other dazzling craft cocktails to choose from. The pub grub is very nice as well – we enjoyed the Short Rib Bao Buns and the Wood-Fired OG pizza with hot honey. The staff are talented Mixologists and friendly to boot. Consider it a little slice of Sligo hospitality right here in Hudson County.
